chutneys

cabbage chutney

one small cabbage
one teaspoonful of channa dal
one teaspoon of mustard seeds
half a teaspoon of methi seeds
six red chillies
a pinch of hing
two tablespoons of oil
a lemon sizes tamarind

cut the cabbage into small strips
fry lightly in some oil
fry the dry ingredients in the remaining oil
grind all the fried ingredients along with cabbage and tamarind
add salt as per taste
it tastes good with hot rice
